Pandelis Diamantides: hi-hat and computer software a.k.a ‘iHAT’
Stelios Manousakis: live electronics, programming
Thanos Polymeneas Liontiris: double bass, computer

SelectInput is a collaborative project of Pandelis Diamantides, Stelios Manousakis and Thanos Polymeneas Liontiris that commenced in 2007. It is based on live-sampling, improvisation and interaction – between the players and between the sounds of their instruments. SelectInput creates an immersive post-digital sonic world that is enhanced by the physicality of instrument playing. The acoustic instruments are processed in real-time and their sound is manipulated and deconstructed through a complex network of algorithms and various digital signal processing (dsp) software units. The individual aesthetics of each member converge into a novel musical world, where different musical styles and forms are being introduced, decomposed and warped.

SelectInput was asked to compose a piece for the opening of soundmuseum.fm, an online museum for contemporary sound art. The piece, Still Life: digital granary with double bass, hi-hat, combs and rings, is now part of the soundmuseum online gallery.
